Reconstructing Fishery Catches in the Alaskan Arctic

As temperatures in the Arctic warm, previously inaccessible ocean waters are opening to commercial fishing. Off the coast of arctic Alaska, there is increasing interest in developing new fisheries in these areas. This project reconstructs the historic fisheries catch in arctic Alaska from 1950 to the present to determine past and present fisheries catch levels. This information informs sustainable fisheries management in the region.
