On Wednesday, January 27, 2021, Dr. James Sanchirico and Dr. Matthew Reimer both University of California, Davis, and Anthony Rodgers, California Ocean Science Trust, presented their new project on whether flexible fishing permits can lessen climate stress on California fisheries?
Ocean conditions are changing rapidly because of climate change and, as a result, causing unpredictable anomalies in ocean chemistry, oxygen levels, and temperature extremes. Cumulative effects of these impacts pose challenges to long-term fisheries sustainability and profitability.
