On May 1, 2025, researchers from the Thailand Department of Fisheries shared updates on their work implementing ecosystem-oriented approaches in both small-scale and commercial fisheries. Supported by the Lenfest Ocean Program, this effort applies ecosystem indicators, developed through the Benchmarks for Ecosystem Assessment project, to better align fisheries management in the Gulf of Thailand with Ecosystem-Based Fishery Management (EBFM) principles. The webinar highlighted how these indicators are now informing real-time decisions and advancing more sustainable practices across Thailand’s diverse marine ecosystems.
