On March 5, 2025, we held a webinar titled "Assessing Marine Mammal Bycatch Risk in Chile: Strategies for Sustainable Fisheries." This session brought together experts using the Bycatch Risk Assessment (ByRA) toolbox to identify high-risk areas and develop mitigation strategies. Led by Dr. Ellen Hines and Dr. Maritza Sepúlveda, the discussion covered key research findings, government collaboration, and efforts to align with U.S. Marine Mammal Protection Act standards. This event was part of the Lenfest Ocean Program's initiatives to support sustainable fisheries and marine conservation in Chile.
